What are your biggest challenges?
Finishing what I start.
That was one of the easiest questions I’ve had to answer in quite a while.
Surely, no one has noticed, but this morning I posted a poem on my website for the 68th day in a row. I have been following prompts by my favorite living poet, Maya Stein, and with only 22 days left in this 90 day project, I am very confident that I will finish it.
I haven’t missed a day and cheated even once, and for that I am proud, but I want to do more.
I always like to have a project going, and sometimes I have too many at once.
Finishing the poetry challenge is definitely happening, but I’ve had crazy thoughts of writing 1,000 100 word stories in a row, too. That would be hard! Take brain power and time! But I love a creative challenge, and in 22 days, I won’t have one anymore.
Another creative challenge I have is that I am writing erotica on the side and publishing it on Amazon – and it’s actually starting to pick up steam!
This motivates me to keep writing those stories and getting them published, because the more stories I have on there, the more people will find me, the more I’ll sell, the more money I’ll make.
With that, I’m leaving to go be (more) productive. If I can get 1,000 words of a story done today, that’s aiming low, but it will make me happy either way.
Welcome, 2026, and all the friends you bring!
